தேசிய சிந்தனைக் கழகம் கண்டனம்

ரிபப்ளிக் டி.வி. செய்தி சேனலின் தலைமை ஆசிரியரும் மூத்த பத்திரிகையாளருமான திரு. அர்ணாப் கோஸ்வாமி இன்று காலை (4.11.2020) மும்பை போலீஸால் அவரது வீட்டில் அடாவடியாக கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார். இதனை தேசிய சிந்தனைக் கழகம் வன்மையாகக் கண்டிக்கிறது. பத்திரிகை சுதந்திரத்துக்கு எதிரான இந்த நடவடிக்கையை தேசநலனில் அக்கறை உள்ள அனைவரும் கண்டிக்க வேண்டும் என்று வேண்டுகோள் விடுக்கிறோம்.

ரிபப்ளிக் டி.வி. மூலமாக, இந்திய விரோத சக்திகளை அம்பலப்படுத்தி வந்தவர் அர்ணாப் கோஸ்வாமி. அவரது சேனலுக்கு ஸ்டூடியோ அமைத்துக் கொடுத்த அரங்க அலங்கார நிபுணர் திரு. அன்வய் நாயக்கும் அவரது தாயும் 2018-இல் தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டனர். அதற்கு, ரிபப்ளிக் டி.வி. நிறுவனம் தனக்குக் கொடுக்க வேண்டிய ரூ. 80 லட்சம் கட்டணத்தைக் கொடுக்காததே காரணம் என்று தற்கொலைக் குறிப்பு எழுதியிருந்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் அதனை விசாரித்த மும்பை போலீஸ் அந்தப் புகாரில் முகாந்திரமில்லை என்று வழக்கைக் கைவிட்டுவிட்டது. 2018-இல் அவர் மீதும் அவர் சார்ந்த நிறுவனம் மீதும் தொடுக்கப்பட்ட அந்தக் குற்ற வழக்கை மீண்டும் தூசுதட்டி, அவரை தற்போது மகாராஷ்டிர அரசு கைது செய்துள்ளது. இதற்கு அவர் மீதான தனிப்பட்ட பகையே காரணமாகும்.

குறிப்பாக, இந்த ஆண்டு மகாராஷ்டிர மாநிலத்தை அதிரச் செய்த இரு குற்ற நிகழ்வுகளை பெரிதுபடுத்தி ஒட்டுமொத்த தேசத்தின் கவனத்தை ரிபப்ளிக் டி.வி. ஈர்த்தது. அதில் ஒன்று பால்கரில் நடைபெற்ற பால்கர் சாதுக்கள் படுகொலை (16.4.2020). சூரத்துக்கு காரில் சென்று கொண்டிருந்த இரு அப்பாவி இந்து துறவிகளை பால்கர் என்னுமிடத்தில் காவல் துறையினரின் கண்ணெதிரில் கும்பல் ஒன்று அடித்து கொலை செய்தது. அதற்கு எதிராக நியாயத்தின் குரலாக அர்ணாப் ஒலித்தார். அதனால் மகாராஷ்டிர அரசுக்கு கெட்ட பெயர் ஏற்பட்டது.

அதேபோல, கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் மகேந்திர சிங் தோனியாக நடித்த பாலிவுட் நடிகர் சுஷாந்த் சிங் ராஜ்புத் தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்ட (14.6.2020) நிகழ்விலும், அதன் பின்னணியில் உள்ள அரசியல்வாதிகள், திரைப்படத் துறையினர், போதைப்பொருள் கும்பல் உள்ளிட்டோரை அம்பலப்படுத்தியது ரிபப்ளிக் டி.வி. இதனைக் கண்டித்த நடிகை கங்கனா ரணாவத் மகாராஷ்டிர அரசால் வேட்டையாடப்பட்டார்; அதையும் அர்ணாப் கடுமையாக விமர்சித்து வந்தார்.

மகாராஷ்டிர அரசுக்கு எதிராகவும் அம்மாநில போலிஸுக்கு எதிராகவும் தொடர்ந்து அச்சமின்று செய்திப் போரை நடத்திவந்ததால்தான், அர்ணாப் கோஸ்வாமி மீது தற்போது அம்மாநில அரசு ஜனநாயக விரோதமான நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளது. அவர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டபோது சட்டப்படியான நடைமுறைகளை மகாராஷ்டிர போலீஸ் கையாளவில்லை. 

இவ்வாறு அரசுக்கு எதிராக பத்திரிகைத் துறையில் இயங்குவோரை நசுக்க காவல் துறை பயன்படுத்தப்படுவது 1975 கால நெருக்கடிநிலையையே நினைவுபடுத்துகிறது. இதனை தேசிய சிந்தனைக் கழகம், அதன் அகில பாரத அமைப்பான பிரக்ஞா பிரவாஹ் அமைப்புகளின் சார்பில் வன்மையாகக் கண்டிக்கிறோம். 

சட்டம் தனது கடமையைச் செய்வதில் எங்களுக்கு எந்த ஆட்சேபணையும் இல்லை. ஆனால், தனக்கு வேண்டாதோரை வேட்டையாட சட்டத்தை அரசு ஒரு கருவியாக்குவதை ஏற்க இயலாது. திரு. அர்ணாப் கோஸ்வாமியை மகாராஷ்டிர அரசு உடனடியாக விடுவிக்க வேண்டும். இந்த விஷயத்தில் மத்திய அரசு உடனடியாகத் தலையிட்டு தக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று வேண்டுகோள் விடுக்கிறோம்.

பத்திரிகை சுதந்திரம், கருத்து சுதந்திரம் போன்ற ஜனநாயக விழுமியங்களின் மீது நம்பிக்கை உள்ள அனைவரும் திரு. அர்ணாப் கோஸ்வாமி கைது செய்யப்பட்டதைக் கண்டிக்க வேண்டும்.  இதுபோன்ற நிகழ்வுகள் நடக்காமல் தடுக்க பத்திரிகை துறையினர் தக்க நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுக்க வேண்டும். அதன்மூலமாகவே, ஜனநாயகத்தின் நான்காம் தூணான பத்திரிகை சுதந்திரம் காப்பாற்றப்படும்.

Pragna Pravah, Tamilnadu condemns the arrest of

Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami

Chennai - 4.11.2020

Senior journalist and the Editor in Chief of Republic TV Shri Arnab Goswami has been arrested from his house, this morning (4th November 2020), by the Mumbai Police. Pragna Pravah, Tamilnadu condemns this arrest.

This is an attack on the press freedom and act of vengence, clearly it's a witch hunting. We request everyone, who care for our country to condemn this unjustified act.

Sri. Arnab Goswami has been exposing anti-nationals through his Republic TV. In 2018, Shri Anvai Nayak, who was an  interior designer of Arnab's studio committed suicide along with his mother. It was alleged that, Anvai Nayak committed suicide due to non-payment of his dues Rs.80 Lakhs from Republic TV.  Mumbai police which investigated the case didn't find any prima facie evidence and closed the case in same year.  But now, The Maharasthra Govt has reopened this case and arrested Arnab Goswami. This is due to State Government's vengence on Arnab.

Two major incidents shocked Maharasthra this year.  First one was lynching of 2 Sadhus at Palghar on 16th April 2020. The sadhus were travelling to Surat in a car.  Enroute in Palghar, they were assaulted in front of Police and brutally killed.  Arnab sought justice for the victims and this brought bad name to the Maharashtra State Govt.

Second one was the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput on 14th June 2020. Republic continuously exposed the role of Politicians, Bollywood, Durg peddlers on this. Actress Kangana Ranaut who took a similar stand was also targeted by the State Govt.  Arnab criticised State Govt for targetting Kangana.

Arnab Goswami kept raising questions against the State Govt and Police on these issues.  This has upsetted the State Govt and hence they have resorted to anti-democratic measures by arresting Arnab.  The police didn't follow the standard procedure while arresting Arnab.  

The move to use police force to quell freedom of press, reminds the black days of Emergency period in 1975.  Desiya Chindanai Kazhagam a Tamilnadu unit of All India organization- 'Pragna Pravah' strongly condemns this cunning action. 

We have no objection in law takes its on own course, but can't accept misuse of law against those who don’t toe their lines. 

Maharasthra Govt must release Arnab Goswami immediately. We request the Central Govt to intervene in this issue.

Those who believe in Freedom of Expression and Press Freedom must come together and condemn the arrest of Arnab Goswami. 

Media must resolve to take steps to ensure that such incidents don't re-occur and the press, which is the 4th pillar of democracy is saved.
